Born Gilad Anni-Padda, Valiant’s Eternal Warrior has been a fan favourite since his debut in 1992’s Solar, Man of the Atom #10 (and return post-2012 reboot in Archer & Armstrong #5). An immortal master in combat, the Mesopotamian warrior is protector of the Geomancer, a person with the capability to communicate with the Earth itself.
And it seems, that we may be due for a cinematic appearance from this iconic character – courtesy of ex-wrestler and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista. When asked by a fan via Twitter about his possible involvement in the live-action production of Valiant’s Eternal Warrior, Bautista responded, “Glad you asked cuz I’m really excited about EW. We are currently working to get the script fan worthy and then we’ll be full on from there.” signalling that we might well be seeing the character sooner than we would expect.
However, Valiant CEO & CCO Dinesh Shamdasani was quick to comment, neither confirming or denying Bautista’s role, simply stating, “I can neither confirm nor deny that @DaveBautista just revealed a giant secret lol!”
And while Shamdasani’s reply does not give us much, it certainly has made fans believe that an official announcement may be on the way. Dave Bautista seems excited at the prospect of the Eternal Warrior movie – and he’s not the only one!
