Pooh’s companion Christopher Robin will return to the screen as an adult, played by Ewan McGregor, and we now have our first look at the upcoming film.
The story, written by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroder, sees Christopher all grown up, and facing adult problems. As he begins to lose his way, his childhood friends return to help him out. Think of it as Hook, with more furry little animals.
Also starring Hayley Atwell, the sumptuously nostalgic visuals come of Christopher Robin courtesy of World War Z’s Marc Forster – and just from this little tease, it’s clear that the film will be just as heart-warming as you’d imagine.
The synopsis reads:
“In the heartwarming “Christopher Robin,” the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.”
Not only is the live-action cast impressive, there’s some pretty great names attached to the voices of your favourite Hundred Acre Wood inhabitants, featuring Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh, Chris O’Dowd as Tigger, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Toby Jones as Owl, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
Christopher Robin is set for release on August 3rd.
