Hold on to your hats, DC fans, because The CW have revealed a first look image of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, ahead of her appearance in this year’s Arrowverse crossover.
The Colleen Atwood-designed Batwoman suit seems incredibly comic-accurate, including the bat symbol, cape, mask, all complete with Kate Kane’s trademark red locks:
Rose will make her debut as Kane in this year’s three-night Arrowverse crossover, entitled “Elseworlds” which will also include the casts of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.
If everything goes to plan with her appearance, Rose will headline her own show, which The CW is currently developing behind the scenes. This incarnation of the character was incredibly important, as when this Kate Kane was introduced in 2006, she was one of DC’s first openly gay characters, and Rose will make a similar impact if the series does get picked up, as it will make her the lead of TV’s first show to focus on a gay superhero.
Details about Elseworlds are scarce, but it will see Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Green Arrow (Stephen Amell and The Flash (Grant Gustin) in Gotham City because of insane Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan (Jeremy Davies). The event will also introduce the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Nora Fries (Cassandra Jean Amell).
Production on the crossover begins this week, ahead of its December premiere.
