First Trailer for ‘The Predator’ Arrives Shane Black’s reboot draws ever-closer

We’ve finally been given or first look at Shane Black’s sci-fi horror reboot, The Predator, as the trailer was released online today.

Written and directed by Black (who himself played Hawkins in the original 1987 film) the film once again sees the world once again falling prey to intergalactic big game hunters – though this time firmly set in the aliens’ sights are mercenary Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook), and his son Rory (Jacob Tremblay).

The trailer showcases that Black’s film won’t be following the same old Predators that we have seen before, as harvesting DNA from other species, the creatures have upgraded themselves, producing a new hybrid species that are most likely far more dangerous than the original creatures.

Along with this trailer, Empire have also released an exclusive image from the upcoming film, which shows the Predator in all its glory:

The Predator’s cast is also something to boast about, as along with Holbrook and Tremblay, Black has assembled the likes of Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane.

The film’s synopsis reads:

“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

The Predator is set for release on September 14th.
