Guillermo del Toro Partners with Netflix on Horror Anthology Series Doing what he does best

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro is adding another Netflix project to his roster. In addition to the animated Trollhunters series which is set to premiere its third season this month, the streaming giant has ordered a new horror anthology series from the filmmaker.

To be entitled Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight, the series will be made up of a collection of horror stories, some of which will be written and directed by del Toro himself.

Variety has reported that the director is developing a multi-episode anthology, 10 After Midnight – meaning there will probably be 10 episodes – which will be “a collection of personally curated stories that are described as both equally sophisticated and horrific”, encapsulating del Toro’s style perfectly. In addition to serving as executive producer and creator, del Toro will also write and direct select episodes of the series, personally choosing the writers and filmmakers to adapt the other episodes.

This isn’t the only upcoming horror project that del Toro has on his plate, as the director has previously revealed that he’s enlisted The Autopsy of Jane Doe director André Øvredal to direct his adaptation of the classic kids book, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
