Director Jon Favreau has revealed new details about his upcoming live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, which is based around the warrior race from which Jango and Boba Fett came.
Favreau posted on his Instagram account: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
The Iron Man director will write the script for the series, as well as serving as executive producer.
As well as this, a photo from the series has been released, as production is now underway:
Episodic directors have also been announced, and those who will helm The Mandalorian include Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Star Wars Rebels EP Dave Filoni.
The Mandalorian will be released through Disney’s streaming service.
