MTV is Rebooting ‘Aeon Flux’ as a Live-Action Series Third time’s the charm

Many of you will remember MTV’s popular animated science fiction series, Aeon Flux, which ran during the 90s for three seasons. The series was then adapted into a live-action film in 2005, starring Charlize Theron, which was…less popular.

Now, in the spirit of the reboot age, MTV is developing a new live-action reboot of the animated series, originally created by animator Peter Chung. Attached as writer and producer is Teen Wolf showrunner, Jeff Davis, with Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd (who was a producer on the 2005 film) also attached as an executive producer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be set in “a future dystopian state and revolves around a young assassin who teams with a group of biohacking rebels to save humanity as she becomes the hero known as Aeon Flux.”

Hopefully, this reboot will stay true to the source material and enhance what fans loved about the original, rather than going down the same route as the live-action film.
