Sonic Mania Opening is ’90s Bliss

Sonic Mania is due to relight the nostalgia of gamers everywhere when it launches next week so to celebrate, SEGA have released the opening intro, and it’s even more 90’s than you’d expect.

You can, and should, check out the trailer below with animations drawn by comic book artist Tyson Hesse, who worked on the long-running Archie Comics series. It seems this game is hitting all of the right notes so far and truly aims to offer a classic Sonic experience. Sonic Mania is being developed by Headcannon and PagodaWest and  aims to replicate the Sega megadrive Sonic titles. The studios are made up of long-time Sonic fans including programmer Christian “Taxman” Whitehead, who previously worked on enhanced ports of early Sonic games. The team were chosen for their work in the Sonic fan game community.

Sonic Mania launches digitally on August 15 for $19.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.#
